Every TORP controller keeps talking to your bike's stock BMS, so it safely unlocks more power from the pack you already own than other controllers can reach, with its built-in protection still active.
A higher-voltage 72 V or 80 V pack lifts the ceiling considerably, on the TC500 2.0 and the TC1000 2.0. The controller stays the same either way, so the battery is an upgrade you can make later.

Both fit the SurRon Light Bee with the correct bike-specific kit. TC500 works with the stock motor or a TORP TM25. TC1000 also supports the TM40 Pro. With the stock battery and motor, both controllers have the same quoted power, so choose with your future setup in mind.
Compare TC500 and TC1000 controllersYes. TC500 and TC1000 work with the Light Bee's stock battery and motor. Available power depends on the battery, motor and settings. An aftermarket battery can unlock more power; it is not required just to fit a TORP controller.
Choose for the complete setup, not just the battery voltage. TC500 and TC1000 support compatible 72 V Light Bee setups, but motor choice and battery current capability affect the result. TM25 works with either controller; TM40 Pro needs TC1000. Check fully charged voltage, BMS and connectors before ordering.
Compare Light Bee battery setupsIt can improve power delivery and acceleration when the battery and motor can supply it. Top speed also depends on voltage, motor speed, gearing, settings and conditions. Keeping the stock battery limits the available power, so do not expect every Light Bee to reach the same speed after a controller change.
The TM25 and TM40 Pro are the TORP motor options for the Light Bee. TM25 works with TC500 or TC1000; TM40 Pro pairs with TC1000. Check the battery requirements and estimated output of the complete setup before choosing a motor.
Compare TORP motor specificationsThe SurRon Light Bee, including the Light Bee X / LBX, and the Segway X260, up to the 2025 models. The Light Bee S and Segway X160 are not compatible. The 2026 Light Bee (72 V / 10 kW) is not supported yet because it uses a different wiring system; we are working on compatibility and will announce it once testing is complete.
No. TORP controllers keep the kickstand sensor, crash sensor, power mode button, brake switch and stock display working, and they keep communicating with the stock BMS.
A working circuit breaker or fuse on the main battery line is mandatory. The stock DZ47-125 breaker is rated 100 A continuous and handles 20 to 25 kW peak, so higher-power builds need an upgraded breaker or a correctly rated fuse.
