Motorcycle has always been a symbol of rebellion and a way to escape reality. And escape is now needed more than ever before. All the big biking events have been canceled or postponed, so it is no wonder we are more than ever drawn to sit on our bike and ride away. Different countries have taken different restrictive actions in the hope to stop the spread of the virus, so it is sometimes quite confusing what is allowed and what is not. For all of you who have an opportunity to leave your homes and spend time in nature, away from people, we had prepared some tips on how to handle the situation.

Keep Your Distance

Even though you are on your e-bike, wearing protective gear, avoid crowded places even more than usual. Plan your rides in the wilderness, where hikers and other riders are not expected. In the case the trail is full, find a more remote place to enjoy your ride. We suggest you go for a ride alone. If you meet other riders keep your distance and don’t race them in close proximity.

Masked Rider

Wear a face mask, that covers your nose and mouth under the helmet. We know that a closed shield protects you and others from infections, but a face mask gives you an extra layer of protection and it can be easily washed after wearing.

Rides Weaken Your Immune System

Yes, you read this right. As much physical activity strengthens your immune system in the long run, hours after a strenuous workout you are vulnerable for catching an infection. This is due to depleted stores of glycogen in your system and to the stress caused by exerting yourself on a long ride, in a race, or after a very hard workout.

We suggest you keep your rides as easy as possible, so you don’t put extra stress on your body. Don’t go for a ride in case you have a high temperature or any other signs of cold or flu. Sweating out the sickness is just a myth so don’t practice it. Keep your body in shape with easy rides away from people and by doing exercises at home. You can find tutorials at Youtube or use training apps.

Wipe it Down

When returning from your field-trip, don’t forget to wipe down your bike and equipment. Wash your hands, change your clothes and wash them on high temperatures.

Most importantly stay safe and healthy! We all have loads of fun rides ahead after all this is over!
